- History - WHITESIDE THEATREThe Whitesides opened the State Theatre in a remodeled garage building on Third Street in 1931 and Charles Whiteside, a brother, opened the Mid Way Drive-in Theatre north of Corvallis in 1953. Sam and George Whiteside built the Whiteside Theatre in 1922 in honor of their father.
