Daniel Webster was a prominent American lawyer and statesman who served as a U.S. Senator from Massachusetts and as the 14th and 19th U.S. Secretary of State. He was a leader of the Federalist, National Republican, and Whig parties and a key figure in the Nullification Crisis, the Mexican–American War, and the Compromise of 1850. More @Wikipedia
