Bookmark or Share- Multiple Broken Exhaust Manifold Bolts | DODGE RAM FORUM - Dodge Truck ...I took my truck (2017 Ram 1500) to the mechanic for a quote to replace the warped exhaust manifold and as expected this would be a costly fix because of already two broken bolts and possibly more once they start the job. He suggested that best way to go about this would be removing the engine to get better access to tight locations.

I bought the $80 HF 4" x 36" sander with 40, 60 and 80 grit zirconium belts. Got the drivers side to 0.008" using feeler gauge. Passenger side was warped pretty bad - 0.076" out. I have gotten it down to 0.018" and I'm wore slap out. Will the new OE gasket seal this kind of gap?

As you can see in the pics one of the ports on the end is flat and the other end of one manifold has an 1/8" gap showing light and the other had a 3/16" gap.
