Bookmark or Share- Vermonter delays | Amtrak Unlimited Discussion ForumThe Vermonter South Bound (departing St. Albans and going towards Washington, DC) has been delayed for roughly an hour every day for the past week. I'm assuming it's due to the freight strike north of New Haven.
- Vermonter Business Class and Meals - Amtrak Unlimited Discussion ForumI'm taking the Vermonter both ways in mid-February and, a while back, some of you advised me to book business class, which I did. Some also said that BC seats were not pre-assigned. However, I'm a little confused given what Amtrak's Vermonter website says, to wit: "All Business Class seats on all trains are reserved."
- Vermonter Business Class vs. Coach - Amtrak Unlimited Discussion ForumWhenever I take the Vermonter, I have always done Business Class. IMHO, well worth it. Business Class is in the combination snack bar car. The seating is 2-1, in leather (or leather like?) La-z-boy style recliners, which have those leg rests which fold out when you go back. Real comfy. Plus each row has an electrical outlet.
- Vermonter - Amtrak Unlimited Discussion ForumThe Vermonter uses the same Amfleet I cars as the NEC Regionals. I took the Vermonter from NYP to WAS a couple of months ago, but I took it as basically the next Regional heading south to WAS, not as the Vermonter. Can't answer what type of business class car the Vermonter has, but IIRC, the cafe car was the standard one you see on the Regionals.
- A round trip on the Vermonter. A scenic gem | Amtrak Unlimited ...The Vermonter has been plagued by slow orders in VT and CSX in Springfield so it may be late just FYI. There's a free shuttle to downtown that runs every twenty minutes at :00, :20, & :40 daily. New Haven pizza is a different take on New York style; the char is not for everyone but there are NY style places as well.
