Bookmark or Share- Veiled chameleon outdoors, year round | Chameleon ForumsI also keep my veiled outside 24/7 (except during big storms that could tip their cages over). They are much better eaters, colors are more vibrant, and seem to enjoy it more. There was a change in personalities too. My female veiled became friendlies, allowing me to hold her. My male was the opposite.
- Veiled Husbandry Review - Chameleon ForumsSounds pretty good! Veiled chams are known for eating plants. Many of us with them often have leaves decorated with bites from our veileds. Unfortunately I don't know half of those plants, so I'm not sure if they are 100% safe or not. Hopefully someone with plant experience can chime and give their take on some of them.
- Veiled Chameleon with odd black spotsFor my veiled Bames, I have noticed he either becomes darker when he's cold or grumpy, and if he's super mad/scared he'll turn stripy with very distinct black lines! Chameleons are very timid and easily scared when they're younger.
- Suitable UVB for veiled chameleonWith veiled a they are not rainforest animals. Thy come from scrubby areas which receives a lot more uv than people think. The mesh in the way of the bulb combines with a heavily planted tall enclosure means no 5.0 is ever going to give a uv level near what they would get in the wild.
- Veiled Chameleon | Chameleon ForumsVeiled chameleons do not need to be mated or even have seen a male to develop eggs. Like chickens they will lay infertile clutches of eggs periodically. Even if you only have a single female chameleon since she was a baby it will be critical to provide her a place to lay eggs because egg binding (being unable to lay eggs) is fatal.
