Bookmark or Share- Eye-strain with new monitor - how did you deal with it? - [H]ard|ForumAfter getting a VA I tried swapping the IPS back in for a day, but my eyes can't handle the backlight on that thing. I think VA is helpful for reducing eye fatigue. I am still getting some fatigue with a VA, but it isn't nearly as bad as with IPS. I'm hoping that a 4k VA will be even better, having a higher PPI. I guess I'll see how it goes.
- VA better than IPS for eye comfort and reading? - [H]ard|ForumIf you sit typically close to a VA monitor, the horizontal viewing angle weakness is strong enough, that each eye will be a different angle to the screen, that different angle means each eye sees a different brightness. This can create weird edge artifacts and false 3D effect that shifts with small changes in head position.

I could not find a 27-32 inch VA monitor in the $300-$400 range, which looked better than a 32-40 inch Vizio TV ($300-$350). and that's just really annoying. and even near doubling the monitor price to ~$600-$700, VA panel monitors don't really come across as much better quality.

I just spent a couple weeks with the LG CX 48 as my PC monitor and it was hard enough to go back to this VA panel with halfway decent 2500:1 contrast ratio. Overall I think VA LCD is the best compromise right now for PC use.
