Hello, I have been looking at 40" Ultrawide monitors like Dell U4025QW, LG 40WP95C-W, and LG 38WN95C-W but are not very impressed with complaints and issues found in their reviews. I am currently using a Studio Display, which is gorgeous but I just need extra real estate... I know there is no monitor like Studio or XDR display ...
- Stretched ultrawide display - Microsoft CommunityThe aspect ratio of a 3,840 x 2,160 monitor is 16:9, while the aspect ratio of a 2,560 (which is what I think you mean) x 1,080 monitor is 21:9. That explains the stretching. 2,850 x 1,080 is something of an oddball resolution. 2,560 x 1,080 is more prevalent (because it corresponds more closely to 21:9 which is a common resolution for ultrawides.)

As such any otherwise unfair advantage that an Ultrawide monitor could offer, could EASILY be countered by giving the game the ability to detect the Console is outputting 21:9 and artificially capping the FOV players can select in game.
