grammar - Is it grammatical/idiomatic to say "Thursday night" instead ...
On Tuesday night, I went to the see doctor. On Wednesday night, I visited my uncle's farm. Thursday night, I stayed at home. I saw some people using this structure on Google Books. However, I'm still not sure if it's grammatical/idiomatic to omit the "on."
the exact time of "evening" and "night" - English Language Learners ...
Night is from sunset to sunrise, so from 8:01 PM until 5:59 AM. This is just a general outline - it's more common to categorize these times based upon one's activities. For example, we eat breakfast in the morning and dinner in the evening.
“On Sunday evening” or “In the Sunday evening”
And for days, we use the preposition “on”, on Saturday, on Monday, on Tuesday,...so on. With respect to both of them being “nouns”, Sunday and evening. But I am confused of using them together. I met one of my friends on Sunday evening. Why do we use ON instead of: I met one of my friends in the evening of Sunday.
time - When is last Tuesday if it's Wednesday - English Language ...

The only time I can think of when someone would say "the last Tuesday" is if the context indicates that we are specifying a specific Tuesday from some set, like "the last Tuesday in January" or "the last Tuesday on which there will be a full moon". –
