Bookmark or Share- Juliet , A Good Canning Variety ! - Tomatoville® Gardening ForumsThe dried taste is the excellent semi-sour taste of good sun dried tomatoes. No growing problems growing in a double 5 gal. "Global Bucket" system. Seems very healthy no diseases so far, great production, long living plant. Taste ok fresh, but not up to some other early tomatoes like 4th of July etc. Fantastic Drying Tomato IMO. walt

One of my favorite reds that falls in that category is Druzba and it has been very productive as well as tasty. I'm growing Atkinson for the first time in a very long time. It used to be one of the favored tomatoes around here before fusarium got so bad.
- tomatoes & oyster shells - Tomatoville® Gardening Forumsi have had in the past a problem w/ my tomatoes rotting from the bottom about the time they get ripe. i have been told the stuff ya spray on em to prevent this is calcium, and that if ya will put some oyster shells (like for chickens) in the ground around your tomatoe plants, that it will prevent the rotting from the bottom.
