Beef tataki (or “gyuniku no tataki” 牛肉のたたき in Japanese) is a Japanese dish made with fillet of beef that has been seasoned, seared over a high heat, cooled and cut into thin slices. It is most commonly served either soaked in a marinade or with a soy based dipping sauce and sprinkled with green onions. More @Wikipedia
