Bookmark or Share- Sunny Side Up - October 2024 Babies | Forums | What to Expectmy daughter was sunny side up for delivery and it was awful. All back labor and she never dropped even tho I was fully dilated and effaced! Do research now and I'm honestly I'd ask them when I went into labor to make sure she wasn't sunny side up. Doing a c section for this baby bc of the trauma from that birth and its repeat c anyway.

I did have back labor, but it was manageable with good comfort measures. The midwives were able to reach in and turn baby during about three contractions when I was six centimeters dilated. That hurt, but then it all went a lot faster, so it was worth a few minutes of pain.

No forceps/vacuum, had an epidural at the last minute so I didn’t benefit from it, but I didn’t tear and she was born in two hours from first contraction to birth. It was a little harder to push, but your body knows what to do. I do recommend not pushing on your back if you can avoid it.. you can push on your side.
