Bookmark or Share- Driver restraint system malfunction solved! - BimmerFest BMW ForumAnytime you run across a MRS/SRS electrical harness...you must disconnected the negative battery cable...and leave it disconnected until you reconnect the MRS/SRS electrical harness. This will prevent that sensor (component) from registering a fault code.

I have searched over the holiday but I am not find specifics on the problem beyond they SRS flash code listing that states that al 5-X,6-X,7-X, and 8-X are "Internal failure of the SRS Unit". The SRS unit flash code list does not link to troubleshooting procedures like other flashcode directories.

I turned my car on with the steering wheel airbag unplug to test the my steering wheel controls which were not working and it triggered the airbag (srs) light. I've read of tools for older model BMW's but nothing specifically for the F10.
