That tears up the meat and makes the squirrels harder to clean, after you bite down on some lead from that tiny birdshot you will look for something better.

So when I went in this afternoon and heard leaves 10 minutes after I sat down, I believed the squirrels had come out again after being disturbed by me walking in.... NOPE. 2 does came running by. I don't know if its a complete miss or just wounded. I have setup targets and it seems like he always hits a squirrel size target with enough pellets at reasonable range 25 yards are so.

Then I'm going to cut 6"x8' strips of 1/2" hardware cloth and attach them to the PVC pipe around the tree with about 1" spacing between the strips, all the way up the pipe.
