Bookmark or Share- Dodgers, flashers, and flies, oh my | Michigan Sportsman ForumI tie 18 inch leaders on my 6 inch flashers/dodgers and 24 inch leaders on my 8 inch spin doctors and salmon candy flashers to keep my setups uniform. I wonder if I have too random of a collection of flashers, flies, and dodgers and need to get back to the more basic bread and butter flasher/fly patterns.
- Slide diver vs. Dipsy | Michigan Sportsman ForumI've been running 40 ft of 40 lb mono and use the slide diver on the mono. Same things as Bob described. On the end of the mono, I attach a 6 foot "dipsey" type leader for spoons, or clip on a paddle or spin doctor directly. I've been running spoons the full 40 ft back and paddles and spin doctors about 20 ft back.

- Harrisville 2024 | Michigan Sportsman ForumWe set up in 30' fow, ran at slowest 2.8 and fastest was 3.4!! Fire speeds. Ran mostly high lines with the exception of two riggers with spin doctors and spin n glows. It was lights out 🙌 we picked up our first fish just as lines were set in 31' laker on double chrome doctor with green spin n glow.
- Spin doctor vs flashers - Michigan Sportsman ForumIMO the Spin Docs work best at higher speeds and the FC's and such work better at lower speeds. As for leader length, that seems to be a personal preference, but quite honestly like others have said IMO catching fish has more to do with being in the right spot than it does anything else.
