Bookmark or Share- Help with furnace dip switch settings - DIY Home Improvement ForumHad a new furnace installed and I'm finding the AC is not cooling the home as quickly as before. Furnace runs for hours to bring down the ambient temp by 1F. Furnace is a Rheem 2 stage 96%. I contacted the installer and he says that the furnace is sized correctly and that I can simply adjust the dip switch settings to increase the CFMs by 10%.
- Goodman Fan Speed - DIY Home Improvement ForumThe board does a self check when you turn the main 120 volts power on/off or use the door switch and then it looks for the fan speed and other settings in the memory. Maybe it is programmed to use that on the next cooling cycle. I would use the fan ON and that will get you a lower and better speed for the wood stove and be quieter.

I think the low stage CFM was set somewhere around 1200-1300 CFM and it was keeping humidity less than 45% during the day (90F with 75F+ dew point) and at night humidity would raise to 49% due to the higher indoor coil temperatures from heat pump running at lower capacity.

Go past the 1-4 settings, get the motor turning for a second or three, then back it down to the lower speed. They usually continue to run then. But I agree with Windows on Wash, Dremels are pretty useless at those low speeds, since contact with almost anything will stop them.
- Ceiling fan - bypass variable speed? - DIY Home Improvement ForumI have a ceiling fan with a wall-mounted variable speed control (4 settings). The fan itself has an on/off pull chain and capacitor. Is it possible to bypass the capacitor in the fan, i.e. remove the variable speed option by taking the capacitor out of the loop and wiring the motor directly to a simple wall switch? Thanks, J
