Bookmark or Share- Sonos Arc Ultra Soundbar Review - AVForumsThe Sonos Arc Ultra soundbar. The ‘Trueplay’ feature is worth applauding at this point. The sound of the Arc Ultra when taken from the box, compared to the sound after the room correction routine has happened, is less coherent, less defined and has less audible space between individual elements of a soundtrack.
- Options for playing DTS:X sources with Sonos Arc - AVS ForumAnyway, it all works and sounds good - i.e., I select the DTS:X track on the UHD disc, and the Sonos sees/plays PCM 7.1 (according to the Sonos app) - I have the subwoofer and surrounds in addition to the Sonos Arc, and so it's "mixing" to a 5.1 system.

Actually I spoke to someone very helpful at Peter Tyson, who has heard the Sonos ARC extensively, and said that also applies here. I.e. that even one of the cheap Marantz slimline receivers + a cheap ~£500ish speaker package would sound a fair bit better than the ARC.
- Using Sonos Arc and Receiver Audio - AVForumsSort of - the Sonos Arc has an infrared receiver that can be paired with the TV remote. Once you've paired the TV remote with the Sonos, the volume up/down and mute will work. However, there is no display to tell you what the volume is set to, except for the green light that appears at the front of the unit when volume is 0.
- SAMSUNG HW-Q990C or Sonos ARC ultra on it's on. - AVS ForumFWIW I would definitely take the Q990C or Q990D over the Sonos Arc Ultra soundbar by itself (no sub or rear surrounds). The Q990C is often on sale for less than $1k - sometimes the Q990D is also. Just keep an eye out. Good luck! ~~~~~
