You'd most likely construct it then as, "That message was addressed to someone else." But that would not be quite right. When you address something, it goes where you addressed it to. The above suggestions of, "That message was meant for someone else" would be the most idiomatic and common usage. (and really, the most correct, in my opinion) More @Wikipedia
