Google Flights makes most of its money by selling the software to airlines and travel companies and a small amount from bookings. Kayak and Skyscanner make their money from ticket sales via their website.

I was on Skyscanner, used multi-city, and chose booking with the airline. It then recommended I book the two flights separately anyway. Is this an airline thing? Airline is TAP. I am a proponent of Skyscanner as it is a time saver and finds great fares which I then buy FROM THE AIRLINE ITSELF. If your flights are cancelled, delayed or anything else happens to a flight that you buy via a 3rd party, you must be able to reach someone at the 3rd party, not the airline to resolve the prob

If the airlines ramp up their flights, that might become the rule of thumb again. Meanwhile, you might check Skyscanner.com and GoogleFlights.com for flights from Toronto and Montreal, if you’re on the east coast.
- eDreams - Rick Steves Travel ForumI used Skyscanner which takes you to about 5 booking companies. Normally, RyanAir is one of them, but in this case, they were not listed so I chose eDreams. The charge is pending as RyanAir blocked them - I'm worried I will be held accountable for the charge even if I don't verifiy with RyanAir.
