- Where Is This Skatepark? - The Skatepark ProjectDon’t let the photo fool you – this park is sizable! At 30,000 sq. ft, this multi-tiered, multicolored, concrete gem of a skatepark is located in Charlottesville, VA. The project was granted a THF Construction Grant in 2015 and opened in early 2019.
- Four New State-of-the-Art Skateparks To Be Built in NYCWith support from the NYC Mayor’s Office, City Council, Borough Presidents, the Department of Parks & Recreation, the Economic Development Corporation, dedicated community advocates, and countless others, these skateparks are being fast-tracked for completion to open up much-needed skate spaces in the outer boroughs of NYC.
- Success Story: Hilltop Skatepark – San Francisco, CAIts antiquated design no longer satisfied skateboarders’ needs but the skatepark was respected for its historical significance and was still fun to skate. In 2016 the skatepark was renovated and expanded with support from the Tony Hawk Foundation.
- TSP Hosts Fellows First In-Person Program RetreatThe trip allowed the fellows to connect IRL and see firsthand what it takes to create and maintain quality community skate spaces. They kicked things off with a tour of Hawk HQ and the TSP offices, then headed to CEMEX to learn about an essential public skatepark component: concrete.
