The photo posted earlier was of the Orange & Alexandria Railroad, destroyed by Confederates in October 1863, not one of Sherman's march. Of the 1863 destruction, just after the battle of Bristoe Station, Private Louis Leon wrote on October 18: "We tore up the railroad from Manassas to the Rappahannock River. More @Wikipedia
