- What's the better Tomb Raider game out of these 3? | ResetEraTomb Raider - Best combat. Rise of the TR- Best mix. Shadow of the TR - Best exploration. I voted Tomb Raider cause I like the combat more than the exploration. But Rise is probably the best out of the 3. Shadow had the best locations and puzzles/tombs, but the combat was terrible. Extremely floaty and boring compared to the first two.

Story aside, Shadow of the Tomb Raider felt like it was moving in the right direction after the first two almost made a mockery of the idea that Lara was a tomb raider. So I'm a little hopeful.
- Shadow of the Tomb Raider is a fantastic game. What went wrong?As I recall, Shadow of the Tomb Raider overall received about average reviews, generally leaning towards positive. But I don't remember it causing the same fuss as the original 2013 game or even Rise of the Tomb Raider. Eidos is apparently happy with the game's sales though it doesn't look like they were particularly great.
