The term "senile" is sometimes used to describe the plaques that build up in the brain as Alzheimer's disease progresses. These senile plaques, along with neurofibrillary tangles, are often described as the hallmarks of Alzheimer's disease, Senility vs. Dementia. More @Wikipedia
