- History - First Church SeattleWe are Seattle’s first church, founded in 1853, two years after the Denny party first landed at Alki to homestead Seattle. The first worship service was held in a log cabin. The church survived the great Seattle Fire of 1889, and it grew dramatically during the prosperous years surrounding the 1897 Gold Rush.
