Scottevest is getting expensive, even with their sales, but I have been picking up the brand on EBay ( even new, with tags NWT). I still keep my passport, second credit and atm card in my neck holder, under my clothes.

I like the fact that many of my smaller things are in my coat for my flight: a silk scarf for warmth, my small noise cancelling earbuds, earplugs, kleenex, small container of ibuprofen and decongestant, mints or gum.
- Vests are now "officially" a travel hack - Rick StevesI did recently buy a Scottevest jacket on Poshmark (new but less than 1/4 of the cost of retail). It has sleeves that can zip off, as well as all the many pockets. I don't plan to stuff it with as many items as possible in order to thwart carry-on rules. I do like the idea of making it easier to access certain items and to go through security.

- Scottevest jacket or alternatives - Rick Steves Travel ForumThere aren't lots of pockets but I believe they are lighter weight than the ScotteVest. We layer with cashmere sweaters, silk underwear and another jacket. My regular travel jacket is from Tilley. It is more expensive. It has some rain repellancy and can be sink washed and is dry in the morning. I would look around before buying a ScotteVest.
