Besides fewer parts than the tube magazine pump guns like the Rem M-12/121, Winchester M-61, the later magazines prevented the bolt from closing on an empty magazine, thus preventing dry firing.

- Any Savage Arms serial number/year charts - The Firearms ForumMy recent find is Savage 110 6.5 creedmoor accu trigger and stock that starts with a P but the last number listed is H I think in 2010 and pre accu trigger is F post is G. Based on this do the letters keep going up yearly P being 2016?? The other problem is the rifles do not have the actual type of 110 like long range or mountain hunter.
- Old savage sporter - The Firearms ForumSince Savage Arms can no longer support there older products I am looking for information on an .22 caliber savage sporter! Now here is the problem this is an older firearm before savage started using model numbers. It's last patent date is November 20, 1917! All that is stamped on the barrel is savage sporter and .22 long rifle!

To the right of the bolt action is the numbers 99717 On top of the barrel is written: Savage Sporter manufactured by savage arms corp. UTICA, NY USA Patented Nov. 28 1905 Sep.7 1915 Sep. 4 1917 Nov. 20 1917 These are all the writings I can find.
