- What do we know about romulan cuisine and dishes?From beta canon, especially in Diane Duane's Rihannsu books, we know that the Romulans are apparently very fond of meat, with a preference for venison. In DS9 there was a mentioning of "romulan jumbo mollusks". And in "The Last Best Hope" as well as in Star Trek Picard we learnt that they are very fond of sweets.
- Improved Romulan Ale joke from Nemesis. - The Trek BBSSo, we all know the Romulan Ale joke from Nemesis. Worf says "Romulan Ale should be illegal!" and Geordi replies "It is!". And then if memory serves, in the novelisation, Worf retorts "Then it should be more illegal!". UPDATE 28/10/17 - Ok, that first attempt was't too good. Lemme try that again Wedding reception:
- The recasting of Senator Cretak - The Trek BBSAnyhow, Megan Cole's Sen. Cretak, as I best recall it, was the crafty/shifty Senator who initially befriended Col. Kira on the Promenade over Bajoran lollypop-like snacks; she suggested that Kira try a Romulan treat which was "very tart" -- but by the next episode her true colors were revealed when she forced Kira into a military confrontation ...
- Star Trek II, III, IV movie Timeline question...This makes me think Romulan Ale is best after its aged, and newer vintages can be unpalatable for humans. Also, if we presume Space Seed occurs in the middle or towards end of 2267, STII's setting of March, 2283 is 15 years and change later, which gives validity to the scripted mentions of "15 years" passing between the episode and film.
