- My experience with R1S in snow - Rivian ForumRivian’s trip planner recommended a stop at a Lodi station, 30 miles further instead. This advice turned out to be better; I reached Kirkwood with only about 70 miles of range left, instead of the preferable 100 miles (70 miles to Lodi, rest to accommodate delays, loss of charge when parked, decreased range in cold, detours/emergency, etc).

Basically anytime over about 85F which is a lot of my year here. Given that it will be a 1st gen heatpump for Rivian, I figured there could be issues there. While overall there were a lot of changes, a lot were to reduce costs for Rivian.

Still feels like a Rivian, but very much more controlled, smooth, and steady. Stalks. Highway assist on Gen 2 is activated by pulling the stalk towards you instead of pushing down.
- Rivian 10 year Depreciation Schedule and Cross Shopping with R2 in 2026I wanted to put some potential numbers down to guesstimate what depreciation would be like on a Rivian R1S / R1T Quad Motor over the next 10 years. I would say the current price is $87,000 for R1T and $92,000 for R1S based on Rivian screenshots below. The R1S build would come out to $75,500 for pre-price hike customer.
