The COUNTIFS function is similar to the function with one important exception: COUNTIFS lets you apply criteria to cells across multiple ranges and counts the number of times all criteria are met.

Note: Named ranges that are created from selecting cells have a workbook-level scope. Select the range you want to name, including the row or column labels. Click Formulas > Create from Selection.
