Bookmark or Share- Mt. Sneffels Wilderness - US Forest ServiceMt. Sneffels Wilderness covers 16,587 acres on the Uncompahgre National Forest near the communities of Telluride, Ridgway and Ouray in Colorado. Only 15 miles of constructed trail enter this rugged area.
- USDA FOREST SERVICE WILD SKY WILDERNESS AREA TRAIL PLANThe Wild Sky Wilderness has 3 units: Ragged Ridge, Eagle Rock, and West Cady. The Ragged Ridge unit is a steep, rocky, rugged landscape featuring Lake Isabel on its western boundary.
- Grand Mesa Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests - West Elk WildernessMill Castle Trail is one of the most rugged and scenic trails in this Wilderness. The rugged mid-country of the West Elk Wilderness is very remote. It is recommended that visitors be able to navigate the backcountry using topographic maps.
- White River National Forest - Raggeds Wilderness - White RiverRaggeds Wilderness covers 65,443 acres spanning Gunnison and White River National Forests. Elevations range from 7,000 to about 13,000 feet. Prominent rocky slopes point upward to a serrated ridge which gives Raggeds Wilderness its name.
- San Juan National Forest - South San Juan Wilderness: San JuanYou'll find high peaks and cliffs, as well as jagged pinnacles and ragged ridges, making travel difficult. Elevations rise as high as 13,300 feet. Thirty-two lakes, most of them formed by glacial activity, hold much of the area's moisture and drain into turbulent creeks.
