Bookmark or Share- Conundrum: "cleverer" or "more clever", "simpler" or "more simple" etcquiet → quieter/more quiet; simple → simpler/more simple; stupid → stupider/more stupid; subtle → subtler/more subtle; Etymologically speaking, is there any explanation for this?
