Queensland (pronounced KWEENZ-land) is the northeastern state of Australia, famous for natural wonders, such as the Great Barrier Reef, the Daintree Rainforest, and K'gari. Its population of 5 million are mostly found in the capital Brisbane and the nearby city of Gold Coast in southeast, whereas much of the rest of the state is sparsely populated. More @Wikipedia
