Bookmark or Share- HDMI with resolution 2560 x 1440 possible? - Super UserIt's an older thread but I thought I would add my two cents in. Running Windows 8.1 RTM on a Retina Macbook Pro which has a NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M connected to a Dell U2711 via HDMI I managed to get it working by creating a custom resolution using the following settings (note the CVT Reduced Blank selection):
- Surface Pro 4 maximum external QHD monitors - Super User2x 4K Monitors at QHD (3840x2160)(one on the Dock, one on the mini-DP) 1x Internal Monitor (2736x1824) More monitors I haven't connected yet - using the second Dock connector would throw you back to 30 Hz (which is a no-go in my case) - so maybe DaisyChain on the mini-DP would be worth a try.
- Can a laptop with 1080p native resolution output 4K signal to an ...Yes, and a longer probably Yes. Yes #1. The output on the laptop screens completely independant of the output on attached monitors.
- windows 8.1 - QHD display in 1080p - Super UserI just got a 15" laptop with a QHD display (3200x1800). The scaling on windows 8.1 is a complete disaster and strains my eyes to the max. Is it possible to set the display to 1080p without it beco...
- What is the difference between 4K, UHD and QHD? Do we agree on one ...For example, here is some info from the Wikipedia entry on “QHD”; once again bold emphasis is mine: QHD (Quad HD), also sometimes advertised as WQHD due to its widescreen shape, or 1440p, is a display resolution of 2560x1440 pixels in a 16:9 aspect ratio. It has four times as many pixels as the 720p HDTV video standard, hence the name.
