Bookmark or Share- How often to feed puffer fish? - Reef2ReefPuffers basically eat every day and they will eat alot and need a tank with good filtration. My dogface puffer could eat 6 clams a day and still be begging for more. If this is the poster with the 55g, those fish need to be in a bigger tank, you will not be able to even keep one of those fish in a 55g.
- lethargic porcupine puffer fish | Reef2ReefI am worried about my porcupine puffer fish. He is sleeping WAY more than usual and just doesn't seem right. He will come up to greet me and eat (he is hungry), but then goes back to sleeping on the bottom of the tank. I can't see any parasites or cuts but I know him, and this is not his usual behavior. Something is wrong.
- Valentini puffer in a 20g - Reef2ReefWe recently introduced a Valentini puffer to the 50g. He is a lovely little fish but unfortunately is one of those individuals who finds LPS super tasty. I've set up a 20 gallon long for the rock boring urchin hitchhiker, and was wondering if this puffer would have enough room in that tank.
- Puffer got ich! What to do! | Reef2ReefSimply put, this process works because you are literally outrunning the parasite’s known life cycle. If a fish is infected with ich, trophonts will leave the fish at some point during the TTM process, and the encysted stage doesn’t have enough time to release theronts (i.e. free swimmers that re-infect the fish) before the fish exits the tank.
- Puffer safe Corals? | Reef2ReefAnecdotally and tangentially, (;Pompus) I just put a 3 head caulastrea frag in a tank with a GSP last night and the puffer's ignored it for the most part. But losing a coral to a puffer is always a risk that you should be prepared for IMO.
