- Why did Red Squadron give their call signs in random order?For dramatic purposes, it was important for Luke to be the last to check in. The other featured pilots (Porkins, Biggs, and Wedge) all needed face time, but pacing is likely what dictated the order of the other pilot's reports. Besides, having to hear the pilots reporting in order from Two to Ten would have been rather tedious.

- How do ejection systems operate for Rebel pilots?Rebel flight suits include an ejection harness, Biggs tells Porkins to eject. This seems to suggest that Rebel fighters have an ejection system. How would they operate for different fighters? Does the whole cockpit separate? Do they function like current aircraft ejection systems - if so what protects the pilot from the vacuum of space?
- Was there a Biggs Darklighter scene on Tatooine in "A New Hope"?The other answers are fine, but here are a couple more things that you might like to know: * In the original theatrical version that you saw as a teenager, that scene in the hangar bay wasn't there either; the only mention of Biggs's name is when he dies, and you have no idea why Luke cares about him.
