Bookmark or Share- Graduation Schedule - United States Marine CorpsMarine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island is now open to the public. There will be no restrictions on the amount of people attending recruit training graduations or Family Day activities.
- Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris IslandParris Island has been the site of Marine Corps recruit training since Nov. 1, 1915. Today, approximately 20,000 recruits come to Parris Island annually for the chance to become United States Marines by enduring 13 weeks of rigorous, transformative training.
- 1st Recruit Training Battalion - United States Marine CorpsThe battalion was established on Aug. 6, 1940, 25 years after Parris Island was first designated as a Marine Corps Recruit Depot. The location selected for the battalion was previously known as “East Wing” but was redesignated as the “Training Center” in January 1940.
- Lodging - United States Marine CorpsThe Osprey Inn is located on Parris Island. The Osprey Inn provides temporary housing primarily for military personnel on temporary additional duty. Nonmilitary personnel visiting recruits may stay as guests at the Osprey Inn on a space-available basis.
- Parris Island Museum - United States Marine CorpsVisit the Parris Island Museum, where every artifact holds a story. Our displays range from Spanish and French settlements during the 16th century, to the development of Parris Island as a training depot for U.S. Marines, to exhibits on World Wars I and II, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan.
