Bookmark or Share- tri-pacer conversion plan - SuperCub.OrgWhich kit manufacturer will have the closest plan for a tri-pacer conversion. I am specifically referring to lengthining the fuse, converting to conventional landing gear, adding two ribs to the wings, installing doors on both sides, and reshaping tailfeathers while using as much as possible of the original tri-pacer.
- PA-18 tail feathers on a PA-20, Pacer | SuperCub.OrgMy Pacer had stock tai feathers and it definitely took a while to get the tail up even with full nose down trim. The big tail guys could blow them up right from the get go. Once in the air they are a dream to fly and very maneuverable with a stock tail.
- Stretched PA20/22, Bushmaster, Javelin, etc | SuperCub.OrgI have flown a Super Pacer for 20 years. It is stretched 2 ft in the fuselage and has a wing span of 37 ft. The original STC number SA819SW was issued on August 18, 1967 as a multipal approval on PA 22-150, PA 22-160, and PA 22S-160, on Edo 89-2000 floats or wheels and was designated the Super Pacer.
- Pacer wings for a super cub. | SuperCub.OrgA cub wing has 4 bays. A Pacer wing has 3. The missing Pacer bay is exactly one cub bay, so in a sense a Pacer wing is 3/4 of a cub wing in terms of ribs, drag wires and the like. It's true that some parts are beefed up in the Pacer wing because of the higher gross weight, but there is a lot of overlap.
- Pacer Gear - SuperCub.OrgI posted over on the short wing site, but thought I would try a different audience that might have some insight and experience. Pacer gear looks a lot like 12 and 14 gear. 18 gear is pretty much accepted as the gold standard for landing in less than ideal spots. So how does pacer beefed up/ heavy duty gear with 31 radials measure up.
