- What is a SnotBot? – Ocean AllianceSnotbots are custom-built drones created in partnership between Ocean Alliance and Olin College of Engineering. They hover in the air above a surfacing whale and collect the blow (or snot) exhaled from its lungs. Snotbot then returns that sample back to researchers a significant distance away.
- SnotBot® - Ocean AllianceSnotBot is a modified consumer drone that flies through a whale’s spout, or blow, collecting the biological data within. By studying this biological sample, Ocean Alliance can get insight into the genetics/DNA, hormones and microbiomes of whales.

Thanks to the Council on Library and Information Resources, board contributions, and the Coller Foundation, we have begun to digitize this unique data set.
