- Difference between "normal person" and "average person"An "average" person is a normal person BY DEFINITION. "Normal" means "close to" average (in statistics), but plus or minus. It is this "plus or minus" part that allows "normal" to be NOT average. Even so, it would mean that the deviation from average is a "normal" or usual amount, and not "way out."
- Usage of the word "orthogonal" outside of mathematicsI thought "normal" was related to the number 1 in math. Examples would include an orthonormal basis consisting of vectors of length 1, and the gradients of 2 normal lines multiplying to equal -1. Since we usually use things of length 1, "normal" can be this way associated with "usual things". –

- "On website" or "at website"? [duplicate] - English Language & Usage ...What's in use is generally what's correct, or what will become correct if it's used long enough. Even if it's not strictly correct, if it's very commonly used it's still usable, people will understand it, and few will react to any inaccuracies. If it's very popular, it's simply good enough for most purposes.
