Just came from the dealer. The original TSB 08-03319 has been superseded by a new one, TSB 08-056-19. It instructs the dealer service people to reflash the Active Noise Cancelation (ANC) module and has a specific method for doing it. The symptoms described in the TSB are exactly as described in most if not all the comments on this thread. More @Wikipedia
