- TitleNational Honor Society is a national organization to recognize individual student academic achievement. The National Chapter was founded in 1921 by Principal Edward S. Rynearson. It grew into roughly 1,000 chapters by 1930. Over 1 million students participate in NHS or NJHS from all around the country.
