C4H8's higher melting and boiling point than C3H6 and C2H4 is principally attributed to the intermolecular forces between the molecules. C4H8 molecules have more electrons compared to C3H6 and C2H4, leading to greater intermolecular forces of attraction, which translate to a stronger molecular structure and higher melting and boiling points.
