- Metra Electric Highliners - Chicago Transit Forum7. Posted June 20, 2013. You know for all the new Highliners out there, I still haven't ridden one of the Metra Electric ones. I've only ridden in the 1970s Highliners from the IC days in my last two trips out to Chicago (this last week for my sister's graduation, and also last October). Quote.
- Metra Electric Highliners - Page 2 - Chicago Transit ForumAbout the McCormick Place tracks: I took the Amtrak Illini/Saluki to Champaign-Urbana in 2004 (I think it was the Illinois Service back then), and I remember passing under the McCormick Place with the Metra Electric trains. However I remember our tracks being higher up than the Metra tracks, so I believe we passed over them.

I must say, technology has come a very long way since the days of the old Microsoft train simulator of 15 years ago. these two pictures show the ATC cutout. when this train is not on it's home rails, the system will limit the train's speed to 15 mph.
