Bookmark or Share- National Merit Discussion Class of 2026 - National Merit Scholarship ...Hey! Just wanted to create a discussion thread for the Class of 2026 National Merit Scholarship Program. I’m aware that it is a bit early in the game, but as the last round of PSAT scores will be released next week, I think it would be smart to have a head start!
- Merit Aid at NYU? - New York University - College Confidential ForumsDoes NYU offer merit aid? I took my daughter on the tour and one of the guides said that it’s entirely need-based and not merit, but the common data set lists NYU as giving merit aid. Also, we live in NYC so there is actually a scholarship listed on the NYU website for NYC students, but it’s not clear how to qualify, how many recipients, or how much the award is. Thanks!

We’re in the same boat OOS with 32 ACT and 4.05W GPA and school that doesn’t rank; and, no merit aid. Interestingly, when I did the NPC recently, it came back with zero merit aid. When I’d done the NPC a number of months ago, it showed the $7,500 estimated merit aid projection.
- Lehigh Merit Scholarships - College Confidential ForumsYour gpa and SAT are excellent and certainly acceptable for merit. Getting merit will depend on other aspects of your application… showing interest above and beyond, essays, letters of rec, etc. You will need to show them that you love Lehigh and why. My daughter received a half tuition scholarship and another small award.

My daughter was recently named a NMSF, and has forwarded her paperwork for finalist status. Exactly what does this mean in the college admissions process, if anything? It appears that only students who are related to someone in a particular business get the larger awards anyway. So without getting into the amounts of money; how does the status of being a semifinalist or finalist really help ...
