Ford versions have a different timing ring. it also has a different harmonic frequency and should not be used with the 2.5 crank with the balancer removed and a lighter flywheel.

- What Oil should I use? - MX-5 Miata ForumI since switched to 5w-30 mobil 1 full synthetic, and I am very with it. My miata seems to like it, as it has cured my HLA start up ticking. A lot of people praise rotella T6 5w-40 as well. Some people even swear by oil weights such as 0w-30. People seem to use all types of brands, and weights in their miata.

Found that the standard Miata brakes are way more than sufficient for most use cases and affords way more flexibility in terms of wheel selection.
