Mark did some terrible things, but we have to keep in mind that these are his co-stars and his friends, they knew him in a different way and they had real life relationships with him that we have no clue about.
- Why did Matthew Morrison take a break from glee during Will’s ...Matthew was originally set to be leaving the glee cast in season 5, but Cory died so they asked for him back. So I’m guessing during season 4 he was starting to be done with the show maybe? Besides, it made sense story-wise for Finn to be the glee club teacher without Will.

But with all that being said, I think his sweetness can be misconstrued as him making light of serious situations (I.e. the Instagram posts after naya went missing and mark passing away).
