Bookmark or Share- Quick start: Create a macro - Microsoft SupportA macro is an action or a set of actions that you can run as many times as you want. When you create a macro, you are recording your mouse clicks and keystrokes. After you create a macro, you can edit it to make minor changes to the way it works.
- Edit a macro - Microsoft SupportTo edit a macro that is attached to a Microsoft Excel workbook, you use the Visual Basic Editor. Important: Before you can work with macros, you have to enable the Developer tab. For more information, see Show the Developer tab. Change macro security settings. To edit and run macros, you must set the security level to temporarily enable all macros:
- Change macro security settings in Excel - Microsoft SupportTo do that, click Options, and then click Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Macro Settings. For more information about macro security, see the following topics: Add, remove, or change a trusted location. Add, remove, or view a trusted publisher. Enable or disable macros in Office files.
- Assign a macro to a button - Microsoft SupportIn the Choose commands from list, click Macros. Select the macro you want to assign a button to. Click Add to move the macro to the list of buttons on the Quick Access Toolbar. To replace the default macro icon with a different button for your macro, click Modify.
- Assign a macro to a Form or a Control button - Microsoft SupportAdd or edit a macro for a control on a worksheet. Enable or disable macros in Office files. Enable or disable ActiveX settings in Office files. Create a Form button or a Command button and assign a macro that performs an action when a user clicks the button.
