I commuted from Melville for 10 years, and Cold Spring Harbor is the best station. I got there in under 7 minutes by taking Jerhico tpke. The parkin gis good too as long as you get there before 9:00. - LIRR Retiree Spouse pass use on AmtrakMy 90 yr. old mother is the widow of a retired LIRR management employee with a "Lifetime Rail Transportation Pass" issued by the MTA/LIRR. I will be traveling with her from NYC to DesMoines, IA via Amtrak and would like to know if her pass entitles her to a "seat discount" or free seat on Amtrak.
