It’s not at all. There’s a love story but it is a friendship love. Everyone on here talking about the book, I have never read it so I’m sure they’re right. I’ve seen the movie probably 50 times and I never get a gay love vibe going on. Mary Stuart Masterson seems like she could be into it, but Mary Louise-Parker seems very straight. More @Wikipedia
