Bookmark or Share- Maple Lake renovation update - ChicagoLand Fishing ForumsRan into the CCFP biologists yesterday and they informed me that the long planned renovation of Maple lake will begin within the next few weeks. Some of the things that are coming: 1) A 3 foot drawdown will commence soon. They aren't sure if they will be able to open the drain to do so or if they will have to pump the water out.

The tried left in the 1830's, first to wisconsin, then to idaho, and finally the Oklahoma reservation. It was Chief Senachwine who predicted, right or wrong, the Indian nation as it was known would become extinct.

Lots of bass, nothing huge, but plenty of 3 pounders to be had there. Also, off of Old 53, towards Lake Cook rd, there are plenty of ponds located right off of the golf course (Hillcrest) that are killer for bass.
- Stone Quarry Lake... - ChicagoLand Fishing ForumsThis lake is smaller than it used to be due to back fill. There are offices on one side and shops/restaurants on the other. It is patroled by a private security company, and they are quick to ask you to leave, as I speak from first hand experience.
