- 77gr SMK and A2520 - AR15.COMTook my a2 and a4 out to the range today for some shooting. 77gr Sierra Match Kings with A2520. Based on testing in other rifles I’d settled on 24.5 grains and 2.26” OAL. The a2 is a Colt MT6700 that I swapped the barrel over to a NIW FN 20” a2 that Ohio Ordinance Works had MANY years ago.
- Geissele vs DD barrels? - AR15.COMLast weekend, I actually accuracy tested my Geissele 14.5 URGI factory upper and an upper that I built using a Daniel Defense 14.5" SOCOM profile barrel. Ammo used was 77 grain AAC Sierra Match Kings and AAC 75 grain BTHP. I shot several 5 shot groups with both rifles and both types of ammo. Overall, the 77 SMK shot tighter groups in both rifles.
- BKings Firearms (BKF) - reviews??? - AR15.COMAll but BF really slow 3 week shipping. My experience is limited to one order with them, but I placed that order after reading a number of positive reviews. Apparently the owner is a retired or former Marine. I ordered a "bulk" (no packaging) SBA3 brace with no buffer tube for $74.99 on Nov 14. Shipping was $6.
- OFFICIAL .308 PRECISION LOAD RECIPE THREAD - AR15.COM190 grain Sierra Matchkings, 42.3 grains Varget, 2580 fps. Come-ups to 600 & 1K yards, 15.5 & 36.5 minutes respectively. 168 grain Sierra Matchkings, 43.6 grains Varget, 2790 fps. I use these just for practice, shooting 1" dots at 200 yards. I seat them right at the rifling lands; little or no jump.
